In late May, members of the National Cartoonists Society convened in Portland, Oregon, for the organization’s annual meeting. Awards were given, old friendships were renewed and new friendships made, and adults beverages were consumed in copious quantities (and those are all of the activities we can legally disclose). Here, we present a photo album capturing the weekend’s activities, formal and informal. All of them were taken by the NCS’s indefatigable photographer David Folkman (who is also the indispensable art director of Hogan’s Alley), so if you are aggrieved, let him know when you see him. Click on an image to enlarge it. And be sure to scroll to the bottom of the album for a bonus set of images from the weekend!

BONUS GALLERY: Books We’d Love to Own!
For one of the Reuben Awards weekend’s events, Soup to Nutz creator (and past NCS president) Rick Stromoski created a series of parody book covers, and he graciously agreed to allow us to share them here. (What we wouldn’t give to have these volumes on our bookshelf at home!)
